About the Event
The Language Teachers’ Association of the Northern Territory (LTANT) with the support of the Professional Teachers’ Association of the NT and Charles Darwin University Confucius Institute invite all LTANT members to Conference 2021.
Keynote Speaker: Andrew Scrimgeour – Lecturer in Language Education at the University of South Australia and member of the Australian Federation of Modern Language Teachers Associations executive, and editor of the AFMLTA Journal, Babel. Andrew undertakes research into Chinese language acquisition.
Workshop Presenters:
Ibu Danielle Horne - President of Westralian Indonesian Language Teachers Association (WILTA) and member of the Balai Bahasa Indonesia Perth Board. Head of Languages at Helena College, Danielle has taught Indonesian from kindergarten through to upper school for over 27 years, although most of her experience has been with Years 6-12. Areas of expertise include motivating middle school students through engaging activities, curriculum and task design and using authentic materials at all levels K - 12.
Moya McLauchlan - Treasurer of Westralian Indonesian Language Teachers Association (WILTA) and member of the Balai Bahasa Indonesian Perth. Involved in languages education including Indonesian at primary, secondary and university level for more than 40 years. Areas of expertise include designing and delivering professional learning workshops for languages teachers, promoting languages education, - designing and delivering accreditation programs for teachers of community languages.
